Fae Contemporary Fantasy

Spotlight Hot New Release - Urban Fantasy: Magic Rising

Magic Rising (#4 Stella Mayweather Paranormal Series)
 by Camilla Chafer
4.6 out of 5 stars on Amazon
 Urban Fantasy

For Stella, the Witches’ Council Summit is supposed to be a chance to learn more about her fellow witches but instead of networking, she finds herself on trial for murder. The accusations may be evidence of a sinister plot at work or they may be a ruse to draw attention away from the mounting tensions as the witches vie for supremacy. Reaching out to her boyfriend Evan for help would be reassuring… if he wasn’t oddly unreachable.

As the ominous reasons behind the trial come to light, an assassin unleashes a terrifying campaign against the Council candidates. With tensions running high and accusations flying faster than a backfiring spell, the witches are forced to gather together for safety, but that might just lead to an implosion as the culprit is sought.

Plus there’s the small matter of an ancient talisman the werewolves are desperate to find, a talisman that they say is stolen, but the more Stella investigates, the more it appears that it isn’t the simple artefact they claim it to be.

With Evan still missing and her world more complicated than ever, the choices Stella must make might confirm her place as a formidable witch in her new world or leave her excommunicated… forever.

Quotes from reviews:

I like that the story line has real feelings, that good, bad and confused emotions are displayed and you can identify with Stella on her journey. Very recommend as a good, entrancing read.

I love the development of the characters that we have come to know and love, the inside look at the Witches Council and the various mysteries that are pretty much unsolvable. The ending will both break your heart, band make you proud of the independent woman Stella has become. Of course, it also made me wish book 5 was about to be released because the suspense is killing me!

This another great installment to a truly magical series!

Have been waiting for book four and devoured it in a few hours, I'm anxious to see what's in store next!! Hope it's not a long wait for book 5!!!

And troubles double...

Add to that an attraction to her high school best friend, Sheriff Oscar Park and Mr. Prince Charming, her cat, is stealing charms from Belle’s Baubles, June is forced to clear her name in more ways than murder. After all, they don’t have cauldrons in jail.

Quotes from Reviews:

Looking for a fun and fresh summer read? Look no further than the first Magical Cures mystery, A Charming Crime.

How does one have fun, excitement, mystery, and read at the same time? They read anything by Tonya Kappes. A Charming Crime is a great mystery, a super fun book with characters that will have you chuckling your heart out, and is hard to put down until you have devoured the entire book. Warning - do not read the end first. It's a winner. This should be your first book to read on the beach, but I encourage you to buy all her other books, since you won't be able to put them down.

She had me smiling from page to page. Truly magical, fun, and I can't wait until the next on in the series!

Tonya Kappes is one of my favorite authors and she did not let me down with her latest book. June Heal is a fun and feisty character that I hope we will see again. Whispering Falls is a place you dream of actually visiting and feel like you left old friends when you finish the book. If you are looking for great summer read, this book is a must! A great "who done it " with an end I never saw coming.

GREAT PARANORMAL MYSTERY!!

Absolutely adored this light paranormal mystery! Tonya Kappes really does have a great time with her characters and their quirky sides. I love the fact that June Heal is addicted to old school Ding Dongs in the foil wrapper. She is a charming character that discovers her past is nothing she thought it was. The magical city of Whispering Falls is cozy, magical, and fun. I love how the fireflies are the "teenagers" of the community that stay up all night and sleep all day.
This is different than any other novel she has written and I can't WAIT until the next one in the series!!!

I absolutely loved "A Charming Crime". This is definitely a must read especially if you are a fan of cozy mysteries.
